The first step in surviving a mine craft night is to get chop down a tree for it wood. After you have the wood make a picaxe from it then use the pic to get stone then make a set of stone tools, a set is an axe, shovel,picaxe,and hoe. Use these tools to harvest materials to make a house. You should just harvest dirt to make a small house.Because if you are not done by night you will likley be killed by the mobs of the night. Unless you are noob and play on peacefull.
While it is night you can make a mine inside your house and try to find coal,gold,iorn,and diamond.Once you have coal put torches in dark areas of you home to stop monsters form spawning in you house.Now you should have the traing to survive your first minecraft night.Im not making any promises about your second night.
